Neil Wingfield opened Wingfield Ag Parts in an office in an old horse barn in January 1995 in order to spend more time with his family - to be able to take his three children, Chelsea, Courtney, and Kyle, to school in the mornings and be able to take off time for class plays and such. He advertised Wingfield Ag Parts by handing business cards to anyone he saw with a lawnmower.
In January 1996, Neil moved his business to the front of his family farm in a renovated pecan barn. He changed the name to Wingfield Ag & Lawn and began stocking parts to better serve local customers. In 1997, Neil became the first Dixie Chopper lawn mower dealer in South Georgia and began selling Dixie Choppers.
